Organisational Structure

Tourism Queensland is a statutory body under the Statutory Bodies Financial Arrangements Act 1982 and the Financial Administration and Audit Act 1977.

Its key role extends to destination management, industry and market development, international and domestic marketing and tourism policy. Through this role Tourism Queensland works in conjunction with the Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry to deliver the Queensland Government's tourism program.

Tourism Queensland has international offices in London, Munich, Auckland, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul and Mumbai.

It works closely with the state's 14 regional tourist organisations (RTOs), which collectively represent approximately 5,700 Queensland operators.

Queensland's RTO network - widely regarded as one of the most influential tourism networks in Australia - has played a major role in the state’s tourism success.
