The Mackay Whitsunday Regional Tourism Investment and Infrastructure Plan (MWRTIIP) was launched on 27 February, 2007 in Mackay.

The MWRTIIP, yet another outcome of the QTS, identifies infrastructure and product development opportunities in Mackay and the Whitsunday region with an emphasis on sustainable growth. It contains over 70 key investment opportunities along with the levels of investment needed to deliver them.
