Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait draft Tourism Development Action Plan
The Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait Tourism Action Plan is an important initiative of the State Government’s $48 million, 10-year Queensland Tourism Strategy (QTS), dedicated to securing the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the State tourism industry’s future.
Releasing the Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait draft Tourism Action Plan for community comment follows a recently completed extensive consultation process with the tourism industry and Cape York and Torres Strait communities.
The draft is open for industry feedback and we encourage everyone with an interest in the future of the region to download thefeedback form below and return it by Monday, 15 October 2007.

Far North Queensland Regional Plan
The Far North Queensland Regional Plan, which covers the city of Cairns and extends north to Cape Tribulation and south to Cardwell, is a non-statutory policy document that puts forward a long-term policy plan for the region's development and management. It was endorsed by the Far North Queensland Regional Planning Advisory Committee in March 1999. Area of reference Section 10 Tourism under Part C Integrated Regional Strategies.
Gulf Regional Development Plan
The Gulf Regional Development Plan is a joint Government and community initiative developed by the Gulf Regional Planning Advisory Committee. It is a comprehensive Regional Plan designed to encourage and guide sustainable growth and development in the Gulf region, including the shires of Burke, Mornington, Carpentaria, Croydon and Etheridge.
