There’s nothing like first-hand experience to reinforce learning. The lesson ideas in this guide are just a glimpse of the fascinating world of knowledge that awaits the inquisitive traveller in Queensland’s Outback.

This section offers teachers four detailed excursion plans designed to excite and inspire students, through encounters that are both adventurous and enlightening. Queensland’s Outback is expansive, so each itinerary is focused on a different sub-region and has been developed to offer unique journeys of discovery that cover all of the highlights along the way. The itineraries can be adjusted if needed, simply talk to the coach operator for more details. |

Itinerary 1 The Longreach Explorer camping safari is a seven-day trip from Brisbane to Longreach and visits the famous landmarks of the region. |

Itinerary 2 The Way out in Winton camping safari is a seven-day adventure into dinosaur country in Winton, stopping in at Longreach and local towns along the way. |

Itinerary 3 The Mount Isa Outback Tour explores the north-west region and the major centre of Mount Isa. Leaves from Cairns or Townsville. |

Itinerary 4 The South-West Safari Tour is a six day tour that travels from Brisbane to Charleville and Cunnamulla and other townships along the way. |
