Introduction
Welcome ... this module consists mainly of self-directed learning experiences through which you can work at your own pace and learn more about Queensland tourism. It will also help you learn how to demonstrate some Level 6 Core Learning Outcomes from the Queensland Studies Authority’s Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE) Syllabus; some Level 6 Subject Learning Outcomes from the Business Education syllabus; some Core Understandings of the Pilot Senior Tourism Syllabus; and may also be applicable to other student levels and subject areas. Please refer to the Teachers’ section of this module for further details on this.
So what do I do?
There are seven Phases in total which contain a series of Activities and Tasks for you to complete. The Phases may be studied independently or as a sequence. Phase 7 is an assessment phase, which requires you to use all the concepts covered throughout the module and to undertake additional research to prepare a profile of tourism in a selected Asia-Pacific region.
You will need to look at the worksheets. These worksheets have been provided for you to record your answers to the Tasks and Activities - there is one worksheet for each Phase. You can either print the worksheets to use in hard copy format, or you can record your answers on the worksheets in electronic format and email them back to your teacher. Note that these worksheets are not compulsory. They have been provided as an option to record your answers to the Tasks and Activities. The answers could alternatively be recorded in your notebook.
