Climate Futures - CSIRO Impact Modelling

Knowing just how climate change will affect each business and each region is complicated. Tourism Queensland has partnered with the CSIRO to simplify the process.

The Climate Futures project identified the impact of three significant environmental changes to Queensland under a number of internationally agreed scenarios. These were then applied to Queensland tourism businesses through a series of workshops. The environmental storylines and impacts are:

  • 2030 Warmer and drier
  • 2030 Warmer and Wetter
  • 2050 Hotter and much wetter

The climate projections used for this project were temperature and rainfall, as well as wind speed, solar radiation and relative humidity for summer and winter.
