Ecotourism - Plans & Strategies

Ecotourism and nature-based tourism priorities have been integrated into the core business of Tourism Queensland and other key stakeholders. Tourism Queensland is working in conjunction with key stakeholders on the delivery of a number of strategic plans and initiatives including:

• Queensland Tourism Strategy
• Tourism in Protected Areas

The Queensland Ecotourism Plan 2003-2008 (QEP) outlined the vision and policy for the future of ecotourism in Queensland. Its purpose was to provide a framework for planning, developing, managing and marketing Queensland's ecotourism industry, to ensure ecological, commercial, cultural and social sustainability. Implementation of the Queensland Ecotourism Plan 2003 - 2008 is now complete.
