Drive - Drive Tourism Program Stage 2

Project Update

The Drive Tourism Program Stage 2 is entering into its second phase, with the completion of the Situation Analysis reports for each of the corridors. Following sign off by the Route Steering Committees, the process of developing Business, Development and Marketing Plans for each of the 5 routes begins.

Business Plans will link the Route Committees with the Regional Tourist Organisations. Development Plans will examine general product development needs along the route and then focus on around two sub-regions for detailed product reviews. Marketing Plans will focus on tactics that support RTO marketing activities.

To assist the consultants in preparing the business, development and marketing plans, two Executive Committees will be established (one for Business & Development, one for Marketing). These plans will form the basis for the future development and marketing for each of the routes.

Enhance the experience of the motoring tourist throughout the State.
Stage Two of the Drive Tourism Program focuses on five main routes ( see DTP 2 Map ):

The Program began in July 2004 and will be completed in June 2007.
