Queensland Tourism Network Grant Scheme

The Queensland Tourism Network Grant Scheme application process was announced in February 2010. Funding was available to a range of not-for-profit tourism groups including regional and local tourism organisations, local government tourism departments and divisions and tourism associations that were members of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council. There are two categories of grants: funding for projects to enable tourism organisations to streamline their current operations eg via mergers; and for organisations to collaborate on new tourism marketing or product development initiatives not already part of their core operations. The Queensland Tourism Network Grant Scheme has allocated $3 million over three years to help the state’s tourism organisations develop a stronger, more cohesive network.

Funds under this Scheme have been allocated on a contestable basis to support Queensland-based:

  • Tourism organisations that are merging; or
  • Projects that build a stronger and more efficient tourism industry network in Queensland; and
  • Tourism projects that involve organisations working cooperatively on whole of region programs; and
  • New and innovative collaborative tourism marketing or product development activity.
