Purpose
Students work toward achieving the stated learning outcomes through:
- explorations of the Tourism Queensland website and other relevant websites
- identifying changing patterns in Queensland tourism generally
- investigating particular tourist destinations and attractions in Queensland and identifying cultural values associated with these destinations and places
- analysing tourism plans and processes for sustainable principles and practices
- creating and testing hypotheses concerning the global interdependence associated with tourism
- participating in group work to share research findings about changes which have occurred at various Queensland tourist destinations
- investigating tourism as a ‘business’ and tourism as a ‘career’ and formulating associated plans
- applying knowledge of environmental issues and planning principles associated with Queensland tourism and tourism businesses to create possible solutions to environmental issues and tourism development in the Asia-Pacific area.
