Far Northern Cruise Ship AnchoragesThe Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority Board designated 11 anchorages for use by cruise ships in the Far Northern section of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. These are: Due to the remoteness of the region and lack of port facilities and infrastructure, the anchorages cater for cruise ships between 70-120m, carrying 120-150 passengers and able to provide their own tourism activities.
