Benchmarking
Benchmarking is the process of comparing performance and processes within an industry to assess relative position against those who are ‘best in class’. Successful benchmarking is more than an exchange of statistics. It is the exchange of information which enables managers to make continual performance improvements a reality and to enhance individual contributions to overall success of a company’s policies (WWF, 2001).
